Tim Hauck, a former IC student, will be presenting on his years of working with the Peregrine Fund on the California Condor restoration project in Northern Arizona, where the research team worked to reestablish a viable population of the striking bird, and studied condor feeding, roosting and nesting behavior. 

Peregrine Fund researchers found that the primary cause of condor mortality is lead poisoning from eating deer carcasses containing lead bullets. In response, a significant amount of the team’s time was spent on outreach to educate hunters about using non-lead bullets, outreach to educate hunters about using non-lead bullets, and relaying the importance of the Condor Rehabilitation Project.

Tim is an avid field biologist and ornithologist who returned recently to work as Project Director for John Confer's Golden-winged Warbler project in Southern New York.
