Stephen Sweet (Sociology) to direct the Sloan Early Career Work-Family Scholars Program.Contributed by James Rothenberg on 10/19/10 Stephen Sweet (Associate Professor of Sociology) will direct the Sloan Early Career Work-Family Scholars program for 2010-2014. His work will involve developing supports designed to help launch the careers of two cohorts of recent doctoral recipients (30 in total) whose dissertations focus on work-family concerns. Over the next four years Dr. Sweet will provide social networking events for multidisciplinary groups of junior scholars, produce career development events for the new Society for Work-Family Research, facilitate peer reviews of manuscripts, and organize teleconferences on relevant topics. Dr. Sweet initiated the Early Career Scholars program with his colleague Judi Casey at the Sloan Work and Family Research Network in 2006-2010 as a means of promoting multi-disciplinary scholarship and teaching in the area of work-family concerns. |
