Kim Dunnick performs with the Ukrainian National OrchestraContributed by Kim Dunnick on 10/26/10 Professor Kim Dunnick performed, adjudicated and was honored with a special award at the Ukrainian (Tchaikovsky) National Academy of Music. As part of the celebration honoring the 75th anniversary of the inclusion of brass, woodwinds and percussion to the National Conservatory of Ukraine named after Tchaikovsky last week, School of Music Professor Kim Dunnick presented a master class, performed with the Ukrainian National Orchestra, and adjudicated two competitions Dunnick was the chair of the adjudicating panel for the solo competition for brass instruments, and also served as a judge for the orchestral excerpt competition. He presented a master class on Baroque Ornamentation for the trumpet, and, on the Friday night, concert performed the Tartini "Concerto" with the Ukrainian National Orchestra. During the awards presentation for competition winners preceding the Saturday night concert, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, presented Dunnick with a medal honoring his contributions, which began in 1998, to the development of music in Ukraine. |
