Nathan March ’11 and Gavin Cote ’12 were recognized for excellence for their call of the IC-Utica women’s basketball game in spring, 2010. Another entry in the same category was a national finalist. Play-by-play is one of the most competitive categories in CBI’s annual student production awards. The station won the CBI award for sports play-by-play in 2004 as well. WICB was a finalist in three other categories this year, including Best Student Media Website, Best DJ and Best Feature. WICB-FM won a national award for Best Sports Play-By-Play from College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI) at the National Student Media Convention in Louisville, KY on October 29.
