The IC Progressive Discourse Project is planning a comparative look at mainstream versus student journalism. Come hear students who work for the various IC media sources show us how a news story is really made.

The Progressive Discourse Project along with several guests from the Ithacan, Buzzsaw, Imprint Magazine, 360 Magazine and other IC student-led media sources will be focusing on these current issues:
-The Elections (plus the effects of the Stewart/Colbert Rally)
-NPR vs FOX: battling over Juan Williams
-Wikileaks.com & whether or not exposing these government secrets to the world is protected under freedom.

This is an opportunity to meet several influential student journalists who write regularly for IC's nationally acclaimed campus journalism community. Everyone should join us in Taughannock Meeting room, on the 3rd floor of Campus Center, Thursday 6pm Nov. 11th. This event is free and open to all.

In the end we want to answer the question, can students report the news more accurately and more balanced than the Mass Media?

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Edward Wycliff, ewyclif1@ithaca.edu, 281-451-0251  We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
