Alcohol drinks that also contain caffeine have been linked to some hospitalizations for alcohol poisoning among college students. Be informed to keep yourself - and your friends - healthy and safe!

Under brand names such as Four Loko, Joose, Sparks, and others, the drinks blend high amounts of sugar, caffeine and alcohol. As an example, one can of Four Loko contains the alcohol equivalent of a full bottle of wine or 6 cans of light beer, and the same amount of caffeine as a tall Starbucks. The caffeine can fuel a false perception that you are not as intoxicated as you really are, which may increase your liklihood of overdrinking. At approximately 660 calories per can, the drink may be giving you more than you bargained for.

Don't allow the alcohol industry to get the best of you. Be an informed consumer, and get what you want out of your social time.
