Rebecca Jemian gave a paper on compositions by Hungarian György Kurtág at the recent meeting of the Society for Music Theory and the American Musicological Society.

Rebecca Jemian, Associate Professor of Music Theory, took part in a joint SMT/AMS session on Saturday, 6 November 2010.  Her paper, “Flowers We Are: Kurtág’s Mixed Bouquet,” examined piano pieces by Kurtág and their extensions into other compositions by him.  The 4-day conference was held in Indianapolis.  Jemian also concluded her term as Chair of the Nominations Committee with a brief report at the business meeting.
