School of Music students Kevin Harper, Marissa D'Ambrosio and Maggie Oswald take home top honors. Kevin Harper, an IC School of Music junior (pursuing degrees in B.Mus. Sound Recording Technology and B.A. Physics - Electronics), recently attended the AES Convention's prestigious Student Recording Competition, in San Francisco, CA. Kevin entered five of the seven categories, and was chosen as a finalist in four, with an honorable mention in the fifth. After an interactive presentation and discussion with several distinguished judges, his impressive final placements were: Surround Non-Classical (2nd Place); Surround Classical (3rd Place); Stereo Classical (2nd Place); Stereo Rock/Pop (3rd Place). Both bassoon students, Marissa D'Ambrosio (soph) and Maggie Oswald (grad), have been honored by the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). Marissa won the September 2010, Executive Board Member and Maggie was awarded the October 2010 Spotlight Award. The NRHH is the only nationwide organization that exclusively recognizes leaders in the residence halls; it is also considered the recognition branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. Congratulations to Kevin, Marissa and Maggie! Keep up the great work! |
