Dr. Justine Vosloo presented a workshop at Association for Applied Sport Psychology ConferenceContributed by John Sigg on 11/15/10 Dr. Justine Vosloo, Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences recently presented a workshop at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology Conference, in Providence, RI. The title of the workshop was Long-term Consultation, Mentoring, and Supervision: Ten Years, Six Consultants, Three Coaches and One Team. Dr. Vosloo presented a model for sport consultation that involves mentoring and supervision for the "developing" graduate sport psychology student/consultant. The model fosters maturity and provides the student with an opportunity to learn directly from experienced consultants while also exposing them to situations where they learn how to effectively manage multicultural and ethical concerns. At this same conference, Dr. Vosloo was conferred the designation of Certified Consultant, AASP (Association for Applied Sport Psychology) |
