Help create a world with more birthdays and less cancer.  The 2011 Relay for Life of Tompkins County will be held on June 17-18 here at Ithaca College.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, share meals, dance, and take turns walking or running around a track “relay” style to raise funds to fight cancer.  Relay For Life has spread to more than 5,000 communities across the country.

Currently, volunteers and participants are needed for this annual event that helps people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back in the Tompkins County area. Committee Members – Many different committees are now forming in areas such as entertainment, games, food, ceremonies, etc.

If you would like to learn more about the 2011 Relay for Life of Tompkins County planning committee please join us at an interest meeting on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 5:45pm at the Tompkins Community Action Building behind Salvation Army off of Route 13.  If you are interested in joining the committee but are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Tiffany Bechtold at 607-319-0597 or email: Tiffany.Bechtold@cancer.org

Relay For Life represents hope that those lost to cancer will not be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.
