Nabers’ “Generation Graffiti” takes the audience to New York City and the world of Latin American gangs. The play integrates sexy dancing and powerful acting, and tells the story of America, a young woman trapped in a hopeless way of life and the boy who wants nothing more than to free her. Hailing from Houston, Texas, Nabers began writing "Generation Graffiti" while completing her Drama MFA at The New School as an in-class writing exercise. She expanded the three-person scene into a forty-five minute play that was then selected for the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival in 2009. The moment in life when one realizes he or she is not immortal greatly interests Nabers. Drawn to the Latin Kings’ message of loyalty and love in life and in death, Nabers explores what family means when the likelihood of death is so great it is coldly accepted and defiantly fought without fear. "Generation Graffiti" is part of a future three-piece cycle that follows the characters as the neighborhood itself evolves over time, documenting a microcosmic view of what’s happening today in minority neighborhoods. All ticket requests for “Generation Graffiti” should be sent to ictams1@gmail.com and include the interested party’s name, home address, phone number, number of tickets requested, and preferred performance day and time.
