You've probably seen the signs, heard the words, or maybe attended some of the information sessions about a local issue called hydraulic-fracturing, also known as "fracking." This process is a pressing concern relevant to the Tompkins County area. After the showing of the Josh Fox film, Gasland, a group of students banded together to form an anti-fracking student organization here on campus. Tonight, we will be holding our first meeting and we'd love for you to come! Whether you're opposed to it, curious to learn more, or even if you're pro-fracking, come on down to Textor 102 from 7-8 to view our informational powerpoint, learn a little more, and hopefully join our club! We need lots of strength to stop this invasive local concern so come and show your support! |
