An essay authored by Matt Fee, director of the Park Scholar Program and a lecturer in the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts, has been published in the British Film Institute's book, The Sound of Musicals.

Fee's essay, " 'A Musical Dressed up in a Different Way' -- Urban Ireland and the Possible Spaces of John Carney's Once," explores how the Irish film Once manipulates the tropes of the musical genre in order to represent tensions surrounding contemporary Irish identity and its urban character.
