Leon W. Couch published a review article on a new CD in the December 2010 issue of The Diapason. Assistant Professor of Music Leon W. Couch III reviewed a recent CD release, "Krazy 'Bout Kotzmar!" by Thomas Heywood (ProOrgano CD 7236) in the December 2010 issue of the journal The Diapason. Founded in 1909, The Diapason is an international journal devoted to the organ, the harpsichord, and the carillon: TheDiapason.com . The long review article (1,200 words) analyzed and evaluated each selection, judging the quality of each transcription and the effectiveness of the organ and performer. In particular, Couch studied Heywood's unusual "orchestral" approach to J. S. Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor, BWV 582. The review was positive. Heywood is a popular organist amongst general audiences in Australia and renown throughout the organ world for his transcriptions of orchestral and piano works for the organ. The CD contents and more information on the recording can be found on the ProOrgano website: https://www.proorgano.com/?t=special&productid=129 .
