Oldroyd is the conductor of the Troy Town Band, a 2009 graduate of Troy High School, and a sophomore at Ithaca College majoring in French horn performance and music education.  He and town band members have worked to raise money to buy the timpani for the last two years.

At the annual holiday concert at 7 p.m. this Thursday, the Troy Town Band will dedicate and present the timpani to the Troy High School Instrumental Department and the Troy community. At the dedication, Oldroyd will recognize all contributors and thank Talisman Energy Inc. for their generous donations toward the purchase of the timpani.
