First-Year Residential Experience Program Expansion for FallContributed by Ronald M. Trunzo on 01/28/11 The Office of Residential Life is excited to announce the expansion of the First-Year Residential Experience (FYRE) Program! The current program houses 300 first-year students in Boothroyd, Rowland, and Tallcott (BRT), and began as a pilot program in Boothroyd Hall in 1995. FYRE will expand to include the East Tower for fall 2011 to accommodate an additional 300 students. The First-Year Residential Experience provides a year-long intentional living-learning environment where first-year students will make a successful transition to the Ithaca College community. The program’s central focus is to provide a strong foundation for the college experience, offering meaningful connections with faculty and staff, a strong community environment, and programs and activities that foster good academic habits, positive peer relationships, and connections with the campus community. If you have any questions about FYRE, please contact: Beth O'Neill, Area Coordinator for Quads/Emerson/Apartments, boneill@ithaca.edu Ericka Smith-Schubart, Residence Director, Boothroyd, Rowland & Tallcott, smith@ithaca.edu Ron Trunzo, Associate Director for Residence Life and Judicial Affairs, 274-3141, rtrunzo@ithaca.edu. |
