CAPTURED: Documentary viewing followed by Q&A February 14th at 7pm in Textor Hall, Room 102Contributed by Molly O'Shea Polk on 02/08/11 Screening followed by discussion and Q&A with Clayton Patterson, moderated by Sean Eversley Bradwell and Paula Murray Cole. Little Brother is watching big brother, in this riveting document of NYC's once anarchic Lower East Side. Since 1979 Clayton Patterson has dedicated his life to documenting the final era of raw creativity and lawlessness in New York City’s Lower East Side, a neighborhood famed for art, music and revolutionary minds. Traversing the outside edge he’s recorded a dark and colorful society, from drag to hardcore, heroin, homelessness, political chaos and ultimately gentrification. His odyssey from voyeur to provocateur reveals that it can take losing everything you love to find your own significance. Directed by Ben Solomon and Dan Levin. Produced by Jenner Furst, Dan Levin, Ben Solomon. Executive Producer: Marc Levin. Edited by Jenner Furst. Composers: Phil Quinaz and Mike Gamble. *Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the School of Music at 607-274-3909 (voice) or 607-274-1767 (TDD).
