Hollie Kulago, doctoral candidate at Purdue University's College of Education, will present the first of four spring lectures by the Predoctoral Diversity Fellows in the School of Humanities and Sciences. The lecture will take place in Clarke Lounge, Campus Center, from 12:10 - 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8.  All are invited. 

Hollie is Diné originally from Fort Defiance, Arizona. Her dissertation title is: Diné Youth Define Community: Finding Routes to School and Community Partnerships. In this presentation, Hollie will explain the significance of her dissertation with emphasis on both education and anthropology. Specifically, she will describe three key concepts that build her theoretical framework:

1.     K’é - Diné philosophy of community

2.     Kinaałdá - Diné educational experience

3.     Framework of Diné community/school partnerships
