SGA Weekly Updates!

Contributed by Julia Dunn on 02/27/11

Hope you all are bunkering down for this next snow storm and making use of the counseling center’s light box!

  • At our last meeting SGA senator of the week named her successor as Jake Tenenbaum for his wonderful accomplishments within SGA and also for always adding clarification or additional information to our discussions.
  • We had STAND come to our public forum to present something they have been working on recently in terms of making a recommendation to Ithaca College to consider utilizing conflict free minerals in the future. SGA has not yet made a formal decision on whether or not to endorse their proposal due to a need to consult with constituents.
  • Brian Scholten came from the registrar to discuss updates with Homerconnect that they have been researching and testing for this upcoming Spring semester registration process. This spring the registrar’s office will be breaking down registration into smaller blocks and waves of times on various days of registration. For more information please check out our minutes on our website or contact us with suggestions as we have formed an ad-hoc committee to further discuss registration within SGA and are looking for feedback from the student body.
  • Due to our successful tabling program this past week by senators Sam Lowe and Shelby Smith, the SGA will be conducting tabling every other week in the Campus Center lobby. We’ll keep you updated about specifics as they approach!

As always please let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns! Find us on Facebook, twitter, email us at sga@ithaca.edu or visit our website Ithaca.edu/sga.
