In addition to having a great time in every single class, students will learn to feel confident and joyful dancing at any swing event in Ithaca, or anywhere in the world. We will explore playful swing dance styles such as: Charleston, Jazz, Jitterbug, American Bandstand Style, East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jumpswing. We will dance to handpicked great music from 1930 to 2011: Big Band, Rock 'n' Roll, Rockabilly, and Pop. Students will have access to swing music lists, detailed syllabus, and swing history. In addition to classic patterns, we will also learn swing dance improvisational strategies. We will learn some easy dips and jumps, but no throws - it's safe and comfortable for ALL age levels. No partner needed: Singles as well as couples are welcome: we pair up and rotate frequently throughout the class.

The instructor team is very entertaining, and gives plenty of individual attention. Ithaca College dance instructor Kurt Lichtmann with the fabulous Kelly Douglass love to laugh and play on the dance floor, and are an inspiration to our students.
