I am pleased to announce that Ithaca College will host the 2012 New York State Association of College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) Conference. The event will be held from Tuesday, June 5, through Friday, June 8, 2012, and will bring to our campus as many as 800 high school guidance counselors, independent educational consultants, and higher education professionals.

NYSACAC is our state association affiliated with the National Association of College Admission Counseling, which has been a driver of professionalism and inclusivity in the admission counseling field since its founding in 1937. Hosting the NYSACAC Conference will provide tremendous visibility for Ithaca College. Guidance counselors and other key influencers who work with college-bound students typically make up at least half of the conference participants.

A steering committee co-chaired by Gerard Turbide, director of admission, and David Prunty, director of campus center and event services, has begun to meet and plan for this event. Moving forward, we will seek the support of our campus community to create a welcoming and productive experience that will not only showcase our facilities, programs, and people but also leave a lasting impression with our guests for years to come.
