Maura Stephens, associate director of the Park Center for Independent Media, is presenting a paper and leading a panel on "The Gandhian Method of Non-Violent Struggle and Its Applicability to Burma, Iran, and the Middle East" at Northeastern Illinois University's Conference on Non-Violent Social Change: Models, History, Practice, and Contemporary Local and International Challenges, March 10-11.

The following week at the Left Forum: Towards a Politics of Solidarity at Pace University in New York City, she will be presenting as part of a panel on "Resisting Shale Gas Extraction the Next Fossil Fuel Industry Assault." And in April she will present at the SUNY New Paltz Green Feminisms: Women, Sustainability, and Environmental Justice Conference her paper "Our Bodies, Our Selves . . . Our Children, Our Homes, Our Communities, Our Lives."
