Ithaca's Marty Nichols was named NCAA Coach of the Year following the NCAA Wrestling Championships. Nichols led the Bombers to a fourth-place finish -- their best in 16 years -- behind four all-Americans and eight national qualifiers.

Nichols, who has posted a career record of 165-66-1, guided Ithaca to a 14-2 mark this winter and first place at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) Championships. A three-time all-American wrestler at Ithaca he was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 1997. Nichols has been named ECWC Coach of the Year five times (including this season) and was the NCAA Rookie Coach of the Year in 1997.
