IC PRSSA is hosting their 11th annual Make-a-Swish for Make-a-Wish charity basketball tournament.

ITHACA, N.Y. (March 14) —The Ithaca College Public Relations Student Society of America (IC PRSSA) is hosting the 11th annual Make-a-Swish for Make-a-Wish five-on-five basketball tournament. The event benefits the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Tompkins County. The tournament is Sunday, April 17, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Hill Center Gym. IC PRSSA encourages all Ithaca College students to attend.

Sign-ups to participate in the tournament will begin Monday, March 21 and will continue for three weeks. Sign-up booths will be in the Fitness Center and outside Grand Central Café in Egbert Hall. There is a registration fee of $10 per player and funds will go towards the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Members of IC PRSSA urge the Ithaca College community to be involved with this event in any way possible. We are looking for players, volunteers to work the tournament, volunteer referees, as well as spectators to come to the event. DJ Josh George will provide musical entertainment at the event. There will be a giveaway for the winning team. Cash donations at the event are encouraged. IC PRSSA collected nearly $1,200 in donations at last year’s event.

All proceeds from this tournament go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.  The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.  For more information about Make-A-Wish, please visit www.wish.org.
