Here's what you can learn at the Smart and Sustainable Campuses Virtual Conference:

Featured Video Sessions:

The Cliff is Looming – The Business Imperative of Understanding Complex Financial Solutions to Sustainability Challenges: No one tool, ESCO’s, or wind, or solar, will solve the magnitude of carbon reduction (and energy efficiency) challenges faced by many large (and not so large) institutions. How will schools meet these future challenges? By understanding the complexity of problems, and designing multi-faceted solutions.

The Chesapeake Project: Integrating Sustainability Across the Curriculum: The Chesapeake Project is a bold initiative to integrate sustainability across the curriculum of the University of Maryland. Central to the project is a two-day workshop where faculty learn about core concepts of sustainability and explore unique ways of integrating sustainability into their existing courses across all academic disciplines. Since the first workshop in 2009, fifty faculty have participated in the workshop and fifty-six courses ranging from Art History to Business Ethics have been revised to include sustainability.    Student Panel - What's on Students' Minds?: Gain insight into the fresh ideas and renewed commitment to sustainability by hearing from student leaders

NACUBO also grants you access to four previously recorded bonus webcasts on relevant issues:

  • Managing Risks and Opportunities under Coming Carbon Constraints - Get the information you need on proposed legislation and what financing options within evolving carbon, tax and inventive regimes exist during this 90-minute session.
  • Building our Nation’s Green Collar Workforce - Higher education as a whole can be agents of change in this growing culture of environmental consciousness, and 2-year institutions are uniquely positioned to be leaders in the sustainability movement.
  • Creating a Greenhouse Gas Inventory – What Does it Take? - This informational webcast will explain the general principles of conducting a GHG inventory, while providing examples from two contrasting campuses that have used different methods.
  • Commit to Change-Leading Your Campus Towards Climate Neutrality - Is your institution one of the almost 500 that have signed the American College & University President’s Climate Commitment? Join three CFO’s and a facilities director to learn about the strategies they have employed to lead their campus team toward climate neutrality.
