Introduction to Political Campaign Communication introduces communication strategies, tactics, and methods used in political campaigns to influence voters, as well as basic concepts, history, and evidence of effectiveness.

Topics include targeting, polling, focus groups, image and crisis management, positioning, political marketing, new technology, and ethics in campaigns.

Students critically analyze a variety of U.S. and international political campaigns, examining them from an interdisciplinary perspective, incorporating communications, advertising, public relations, politics, history, and visual design principles and practice.
