Ithaca College American Marketing Association gains more national recognitionContributed by Scott Erickson on 03/28/11 At the 33rd Annual American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans (March 24-26), the Ithaca College chapter of the AMA (ICAMA) received numerous awards. ICAMA was recognized as a Bronze chapter, indicating outstanding performance in all functional award categories (chapter planning, professional development, community service, fundraising, membership). The award recognizes overall chapter excellence and includes ICAMA in the top 20 chapters in the country. AMA lists 300+ student chapters in North America and over 130 competed for these honors at the conference. In addition, ICAMA won three awards in the AMA Saves Lives competition, creating videos to increase awareness and encourage action related to organ donation. The chapter won a third place award for most videos, a third place award for most views, and was nominated for best video, all in the January judging period. Finally, ICAMA received Honorable Mention for Outstanding Marketing Week activities, a week-long effort to promote the benefits of studying and working in the field. Congratulations to the 2010-2011 Executive Board and all members for an extremely successful year! |
