On Tuesday, April 12th from 12:00noon-1:00pm in Room 103 in the Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise, bring your lunch and join the Brown Bag Information Session on “Bicycle Commuting.”  Can you really ride your bike to work at Ithaca College? (Yes, you can!!!) Andrejs Ozolins from the Finger Lakes Cycling Club (and former Ithaca College employee) will answer any questions you might have about riding your bicycle to work.

Learn answers to the following questions (and more!):

  • What kind of bike is best for commuting?
  • How can you carry "stuff" on your bike?
  • What does a bicycle commuter wear?
  • How do you safely ride to work?
  • How do you lock up your bike at work?
  • How do you navigate the significant slope of South Hill both up- and downhill?
  • What are the New Your State bicycling "rules of the road"?
  • What are some basic bike maintenance and repair tips and what “emergency” repair supplies should you carry with you?
  • What other sage words of advice would a seasoned cyclist offer a "newbie"?

This event is free and open to the public.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Marian Brown at 607-274-3787 or mbrown@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
