A documentary by Anna Campbell ’11, Lauren Brauchli ’11, and River Ferris ’11 has won a College Television Award. The awards are given by Television Academy Foundation and considered the highest honor in the nation for college television students.

The film, “Bound by Hope, One Family's Story,” features a Pennsylvania family as they struggle with their 4-year-old son's debilitating and rare condition, F.O.P. which causes the bones to calcify and harden, severely limiting movement. There is no cure for this disease.

The filmmakers, all television-radio majors, produced their winning project for their Video Workshop class last Fall, and previously completed the Documentary Workshop course in their junior year.

The College Television Awards is a 32-year-old national competition that judges entries from more than 200 colleges, with entries for this year’s competition totaling more than 500. Winning films receive cash and other prizes when they are announced in a black-tie gala in Hollywood on April 9.
