Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in the field of humanitarian relief? Put your knowledge and skills to the test in this interactive simulation workshop!

Thanks to a generous donation from the Trifund and the Department of Politics, The Ithaca College chapter of Food for Thought is hosting the Global Concerns: Exploring Solutions Workshop from 1 p.m - 4 p.m on Sunday, April 17th in the Taugannock Falls Room.

This workshop will challenge you to think practically and critically about providing relief in countries facing a variety of issues including: 
-Poverty and Hunger 
-Lack of Education 
-Gender Inequality 
-Child Mortality 
-Maternal Health Issues 
-HIV/AIDS -
-Environmental Sustainability 

Participants will be divided into country groups representing Pakistan, Haiti, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Somalia,Bangladesh, and Uganda.  Each group member will then be asked to select the role of Government Representative, Youth Representative, Community Elder Representative, and International Non-Governmental Organization Representative.  Within your group, you will be asked to devise a relief plan within a budget and then present that plan to a panel of judges. A prize will be given to the winning group and refreshments will be served.
