Maria DiFrancesco (Modern Languages and Literatures) presented a talk entitled “Working-Through Arrested Moments in Beth Escudé i Gallès’s Memoria fotográfica and Itziar Pascual’s Varadas" at the Northeast Modern Languages Association Convention, April 7-10 in New Brunswick, NJ.

This talk was part of the panel, "Witnessing Women’s Transnational Migration in Hispanic Narrative and Film," chaired by Danny Barreto of Vassar College. This paper grew out of an article of the same title which will be published this summer in the peer reviewed journal, Letras femeninas, and is also part of her on-going research on the representation of female migrants in  contemporary Spanish literature, film and culture.
