Nancy Ramage, Dana Professor of the Humanities and Arts Emerita, formerly in the Art History Department, has lately published four articles, given a lecture series, and led a tour in Budapest.

Her recent articles are entitled: "Drawings of Ancient Gems: Flaxman, Dagley, and Wedgwood," in Ars Ceramica; "Gertrude Stein's Brooches," in the Metropolitan Museum Journal; "The English Etruria: Wedgwood and the Etruscans," in Etruscan Studies; and "'Painted Etruscans:' Wedgwood's Etruria and the Greeks," in the Proceedings of the Wedgwood International Seminar.  In addition, her review of Mary Beard's The Fires of Vesuvius: Pompeii Lost and Found is being published in The Classical Bulletin.

In February 2011, Nancy Ramage gave a series of lectures at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.  Her talks were on the Cone sisters of Baltimore, the restoration of Roman sculpture, and on the growth of Rome as a city.  Later this month, she will be a guest speaker at the Wedgwood International Seminar in Chicago, where she will present on, "A Greek Form Reinterpreted: The Volute Crater in 19th Century European Ceramics."    

Lastly, Nancy just returned from a 10-day tour that she organized and led: "Art Tour of the Unknown Treasures of Budapest."
