As part of a panel that explored ways in which to use new technologies to enhance student learning, Prof. Cornwell spoke about the importance of using technology intentionally in ones teaching with a keen eye towards its role in reaching clearly defined student learning outcomes.  She also provided examples of how the technology can advance learning and enrich the educational experience in important ways.

Assistant Professor Jack Powers attended BEA/NAB where he presented two academic papers (From Wonder Woman to Sookie:  A Content Analysis of Supernatural Female Characters from the 1970s through the 2000s and Dorky Dads, Geeks and Villains:  The Portrayal of Male Characters in Popular Children's Television).  In addition he also served as the moderator of a panel session for the gender studies division of the association.

BEA is the annual conference for broadcasting and digital media educators and is planned in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters convention and expo each year in Las Vegas.
