Professor Elisabeth Nonas will be teaching a new course during Summer Session I, CNPH 10500 Screenwriting for Non-majors (CRN 10218)

Students need not have any prior filmmaking or screenwriting experience.

CNPH 10500 SCREENWRITING FOR NON-MAJORS (CRN 10218)Writers of non-script genres will learn how screenwriters write so that their written documents enable their readers to become viewers, visualizing the movie that will be made from the script. Study of screenplays, their corresponding films, in-class writing exercises, and completion of a short script (proper screenplay format will be taught) will illustrate the particular challenges facing the screenwriter. Learning to write visually and economically, also to create visual equivalents for moods or the relationships between characters, are useful tools in any writer’s toolkit.

Summer Session I
Class will meet:
Tuesday, Wednesday 1- 4 p.m.
Thursday 1- 2:30 p.m.

Class is capped at 16 and will meet in Park 332.
