Staples has announced the addition of "Smart Strips" to the list of Ithaca College contract office supply items. The Model LCG3 standard "Smart Strip" with autoswitching technology features 10 outlets: 1 'control' outlet; 6 outlets that are switched on and off automatically by sensing current to the 'control' outlet; and 3 'constant hot' outlets that always receive power when the strip is on. Plug your computer CPU into the "control" outlet and all your computer peripherals (printer, monitor, speakers) into the "autoswitch" plugs, and when you turn off your CPU at the end of the workday (please say you do!), all your peripheral equipment will automatically turn off as well. Use the "constant hot" plugs to continue to power your desk clock or a desk lamp that you might use when your computer equipment is turned off. 

"Smart Strips" offer 2225 joules of surge protection to keep your equipment safe from even the harshest power spikes. Conveniently-spaced outlets and a 45-degree, angled space saver plug make the "Smart Strip" a friendly addition to your electronic systems. Use with all computers.
