What better way to ring in the start of Fall 2011 than by biking 100 miles?! The 2011 AIDS Ride For Life is on September 10th, 2011, and registration is officially open! The Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP) is a local organization focused on education and outreach surrounding HIV and AIDS. Every year hundreds of community members bike around Cayuga Lake (40, 50 or 100 miles) to support and raise awareness of STAP. Last year, I didn't train at all (except for riding up south hill 3 times), and I finished all 100 miles! The support of the rest of the IC team is what got me through it. I can't explain how much fun the day is, and how crazy awesome (but sooo sore!) you feel after. Click Here to register. Search for the IC Ride For Life team, and join! It's a great event, enjoyable for avid bike riders and new bikers. If you don't bike, you can volunteer to help out at the event, which is also a ton of fun! Fundraising can be annoying, so we're hoping to hold some events in Ithaca (bake sales, car washes, begging, ext) once we get the team together, so join soon!
