Are You Graduating This Semester and Plan to Teach in New York State?Contributed by Diane Kinne on 05/05/11 Do you have questions about applying for teacher certification? The Department of Education is offering assistance with the application process to all May 2011 graduates. Information sessions will be offered on Tuesday, May 10th, Wednesday, May 11th and Thursday, May 12th from 9:00-11:00 and 1:00-3:00 in the Department of Education Office, Phillips 194 (next to the Bookstore). During these sessions students can apply on-line, ask questions or pick up instructions. Students needing NY State Teacher Certification Exams (NYSTCE) information should refer to the following link: www.nystce.nesinc.com To set up an appointment for another time, students should contact Diane Kinne, at dkinne@ithaca.edu or 607-274-1488. Additionally, graduates that are currently student teaching can set up an appointment during senior week (May 16 – 20). Also, further certification information is available in the Department of Education, Office of Teaching & Certification website. |
