Phillips Hall Post Office Postal Transaction Window Closed May 17th Due to UpgradeContributed by Karen Serbonich on 05/11/11 On Tuesday, May 17th, the Phillips Hall Post office will be installing a new retail system for postal transactions (ie. stamp sales and shipping), which will result in the customer service window being closed for postal transactions only on Tuesday, May 17th and re-open Wednesday, May 18th. The customer service window for student package pick up and for dropping off pre-paid FedEx and UPS shipments will remain open the entire week 8:30am-4:30pm. Since we will be training on the new system from May 17th – May 20th, we will be unable to handle FedEx cash customers at Phillips Hall. These types of shipments will have to be taken to the Mail Center, located on the lower level of the Center for Public Safety and General Services, between 8:30am and 3:15pm daily. Some of the benefits of the new system include the acceptance of credit cards for all transactions, capability to provide acceptance scans for all accountable mail, receipts automatically generated for transactions, and touch screen information on international shipments. It is important to note that we will no longer be able to sell Postal money orders with this new system. As a result, we are in the process of establishing a new vendor for money orders and will communicate, via Intercom, when this service becomes available. |
