On Thursday, June 9, The Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County (DCTC), in partnership with the Society for Human Resources Management of Tompkins County (SHRMTC), presents the 2011 Diversity Community Roundtable Conference Event, The New Majority: Moving into the New Decade – Diversity Issues Facing the Workforce. To be held here on the Ithaca College campus, this conference will address diversity issues facing the workforce in the coming decade, such as gender transition, religious diversity, incorporating ex-offenders, interrupting bias, hiring veterans with disabilities, preparing for Gen Y and Gen Z, white privilege, the “new majority,” and best practices for implementing a diversity initiative. The presentations and presenters for this year's program offer a very impressive array of topics and talents to the community, as well as plenty of time for networking. We are thrilled that two of our distinguished presenters for this year’s program are Ithaca College Assistant Professors Sean Eversley Bradwell and Paula Ioanide of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity. They will be delivering the opening keynote presentation and an afternoon concurrent session respectively. Welcome remarks begin the event at 9:00 a.m. from Lynette Chapell-Williams, Conference Chair and Tom Rochon, Ithaca College President.
Participation is open to the community. The registration fee is $55 per person and includes lunch. Please visit the DCTC website, www.diversityconsortium.org, for a full agenda and a registration form. Payment may be made by credit card or by check through the SHRMTC website at: www.shrmtc.org. Separate registration forms are required for each attendee. Contact Vicki Estabrook in the office of Human Resources at: 274-1059 if you have any questions.
