The Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is pleased to host the 29th annual conference of the Counseling Centers of New York (CCNY) on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2011.

A full day pre-conference on Wednesday, June 1st by Elana Rosenbaum, MS, LICSW, founder of Mindfuliving, will be focused on The Intersections of Mindfulness and Psychotherapy: Practices for Restoration and Clinical Application on College Campuses. On Thursday, June 2nd, the main CCNY conference begins, and we are fortunate to have Jason Kilmer, Ph.D., from the University of Washington, providing the keynote address and opening session on Substance Use and Mental Health on College Campuses: Implications for Counseling and Prevention.  Brian McAree will provide Opening Remarks on Thursday.

In addition to the pre-conference and keynote presentations, counseling center professionals will provide educational sessions with an emphasis on the practice of mental health in college and university counseling centers.

We anticipate 120 attendees from 42 participating institutions.  Please help us create a welcoming environment for our guests, should you meet them on campus during their stay.

CAPS will be closed for business during conference hours (8:30 am - 4:30 pm on Thursday, and 8:30 am - 2:00 pm on Friday), but we will check voice mail periodically.  In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please call the Office of Public Safety, 274-3333.

CAPS will resume regular business hours on Monday, June 6.
