Kevin attended the 130th Audio Engineering Society Convention, held at the Novotel West in London, UK this year, from May 13-16, 2011.  Each year, an international Student Recording Competition is held, including 4 categories for entry and a Gold/Silver/Bronze award system, this year.

The competition results:
By the nature of the award process: 9 Bronze, 3 Silver, and 1 Gold awards were awarded across all four categories.  Kevin was awarded 2 Silver Medals: one in the 'Traditional Studio' and another in the 'Modern Studio' categories, for his recording, production, and mixing work on the music of 2 artists, all done in IC's recording and production facilities.
He was awarded prizes from PMC Loudspeakers, Melodyne, Cockos [Reaper], and Focal Press.

A local music/IC alum pride note! His winning entry for the Modern Studio category is a song called "Jhari" by local musician and IC alum, Diwas Gurung, '06, Economics.
The song will be released later this week on an EP called 'Adhunique', and can be heard/downloaded at http://diwas.bandcamp.com/, once released.  Diwas Gurung is the guitarist of popular local band Ayurveda.

Congrats Kevin!

Awards
Finalists will not be ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd anymore, but rather awarded a Gold, Silver, or Bronze certificate of quality.
