Alexandra Bates is the most recent in a series of student researchers to co-author a paper or publish an article with Professor Danette Johnson in the Department of Communication Studies (H&S).  The paper, entitled, "Instructor Swearing and Student Perceptions of Instructor Competence and Trustworthiness: An Expectancy Violations Theory Analysis" was blind reviewed and accepted for presentation at the 2011 National Communication Association convention in New Orleans (November).

It is indeed unusual for undergraduate researchers to present at NCA.  Congratulations to Alex and Professor Johnson on the research and conference presentation.

Good for you, Alex, and to Danette for her usual fine job of mentoring talented undergraduates!
