Ithaca College, as well as the community and surrounding areas of Tompkins County, is remembering the 10th anniversary of September 11th with numerous events. The events range from on-campus services to events off campus and at other local campuses.

Events begin on September 6 and continue through late September.

Events happening on September 11th involving Ithaca College include:

  • 8:30am - Memorial Service at Ithaca Fire House to honor emergency workers who responded on 9/11/01.  The presidents of Ithaca College, Cornell University, and Tompkins Cortland Community College will all speak briefly.
  • 3:00pm - Interfaith service and rededication of Peace Pole at meditation pond at Muller Chapel.  The Ithaca College Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist, and Muslim communities will all participate.
  • 7:00pm- Park Auditorium  -Lecture - Society of Professional Journalists presents Hagit Limor.

 

Fr. Martenson, Catholic Chaplain, is collecting remembrances about the events that transpired on September 11, 2001.  Send your 100-150 word remembrances to Fr. Martensen or post to twitter using #ICsept11.  Remembrances will be compiled and shared with the campus in late September.
