The student television and radio stations at Ithaca College will be hosting a debate between the three Democratic candidates in the race for the City of Ithaca Mayor. J.R. Clairborne (Councilman, City of Ithaca Second Ward), Pam Mackesey (Tompkins County Legislator, 1st District), and Svante Myrick (Councilman, City of Ithaca, Fourth Ward) will be participating in the hour-long debate, and will discuss a variety of issues including taxes, the environment and small business. The live broadcast will be moderated by WICB News Director, Peter Blanchard, and will take place Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7 PM. The debate will most likely be the candidates’ final joint public appearance prior to the Sept. 13 primary election. To Tune-In: On television: Time Warner Cable, Channel 16 or www.ICTV.org/live On radio: 91.7 FM or www.WICB.org/listenlive Additional Information: Prior to the debate, the public will be able to submit questions for the candidates via Twitter using the hashtag #IthacaDebate. Questions may not be directed at any one particular candidate and instead, must relate to a topic of local importance, (i.e. taxes).
