Look for a collection bin located near your office and if you can – contribute a can! The United Way of Tompkins County annual Stephen E. Garner Day of Caring Food & Personal Care Items Drive will be held September 20, 2011 at Stewart Park. Through this effort the UWTC provides 17 local food pantries with much needed donated food and personal care items. Throughout this week bins for the collection of non-perishable food and personal care items have been placed at various locations across campus. In your travels to the grocery store this week and weekend please pick up an extra item or two to add to the collection. Some suggested items include peanut butter and jelly, canned vegetables, tuna, macaroni & cheese, shampoo and conditioner, Toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss. A more complete list is available at this link: http://www.uwtc.org/stephen-e-garner-day-caring The bins will be collected on Monday, September 19, 2011 and delivered to the event at Stewart Park which will mark the official beginning of the United Way of Tompkins County Community Campaign.
