BI Publisher: Introduction

Business Intelligence Publisher (BI Publisher), is a reporting tool that allows users to merge data from a database into documents using familiar desktop tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel. The BI Publisher engine has multiple output capabilities, including PDF, HTML and plain text email, and RTF (rich text format) formats. This workshop will cover the following topics:

• Overview of the Business Intelligence environment
• BI Publisher process overview
• The Basics of XML
• Creating a Data Set

This session is an introductory session intended to get users up and running with the basic functions of BI Publisher – the Web interface and the Template Builder plugin for Word 2007.
