The Ithaca College Honors Program is soliciting proposals for new honors seminars to be taught in academic year 2012-2013 and farther into the future. 

Honors is an all-College program and we are seeking the participation of faculty colleagues from across campus. Teaching a course in honors brings a number of benefits, including:

* working with talented, motivated students in a seminar environment;

* the chance to develop highly engaged, inquiry-based courses;

* encouragement to experiment with alternative modes of instruction;

* being part of a highly dedicated honors faculty.

This is an exciting time for Honors. The Honors Program is growing quickly. There are now over 400 students in the program, representing all of the schools and over 60 majors. There is a need for proposals for intermediate, and senior-year seminars. We are interested in seminars on a broad array of subjects and especially in those using innovative, highly engaged pedagogies. If you have ever wanted to design a course on an experimental basis, a field based course, or one with strong experiential or service-learning components, this is your opportunity.

Course proposals are due Friday, October 28, in 212 Muller Faculty Center.
