Professor of Music Kim Dunnick Named as President of the International Trumpet GuildContributed by Molly O'Shea Polk on 09/28/11
The organization is comprised of over 5,000 members representing over 50 countries. They publish a quarterly academic journal, commission music, sponsor international trumpet competitions, sponsor youth competitions and clinics, hold conferences, produce CDs which are free to the membership, maintain a website, and support and encourage various projects related to the trumpet and its music and design. Dunnick had served previously as President of the ITG from 1997 – 1999, and has been Vice President/President-elect for the past two years. |

On October 1, 2011, Professor of Music Kim Dunnick begins a two-year term as President of the International Trumpet Guild. The ITG is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1975 to promote communication among trumpeters and to improve the artistic level of performance, teaching and literature of the trumpet.
