2014 Senator Courtney Brown and SGA VP of Communications Rob Flaherty put forth a proposal at October 5th's SGA Senate meeting to add a seat for International Students, which was passed with a unanimous vote.

Ithaca College has over 200 international students from 55 countries. The new senator will represent this constituency in the Senate and will be responsible for holding events for the international community.

As it was a constitutional amendment, the change will not go into effect until the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. The International Student Senator will be elected starting with the fall 2012 elections.
