Visiting Fulbright scholar from Cameroon to discuss peace education, global citizenship, and global peace; 8 pm, Thursday, 10/27, Taughannock Falls Room

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Willibroad Dze-Ngwa from Cameroon, who will participate in the International Scholarly Conversation Series sponsored by the International Club and the Honors Program. His talk “Peace Education in Cameroon Schools and Colleges: A Blueprint for Global Citizenship and Global Peace“ will be at 8 pm on Thursday, October 27, in Taughannock Falls Room in the Campus Center. A discussion will follow the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided.

Dr. Dze-Ngwa is a lecturer and researcher in political history and international relations at the University of Yaoundé I and at the Higher Teacher Training College (ENS) in Bambili, Cameroon. He is also a lecturer on history and geopolitics in the Department of Peace and Development Studies at the Protestant University of Central Africa (UPAC), Cameroon. Additionally, he is the executive director of the Africa Network Against Illiteracy, Conflicts, and Human Rights Abuse (ANICHRA) and an advocate of peace and tolerance education. He was laureate of the 2008 Educational Network for West and Central Africa Small Grant Award and has travelled extensively to present papers at national and international conferences. He has several publications to his credit. His research interests are in the areas of political history, international relations, peace and conflict studies, democracy, citizenship education, minority issues, good governance, human rights, social science research, quality education, and development studies. Dr. Dze-Ngwa is currently a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at Savannah State University in Georgia.
